During the 17th and 18th centuries, children in the Netherlands put their shoes by the fireplace for Sinter Klaas to fill. St. Nicholas, as we know him, was a bishop from the 4th century who brought gifts to the poor. He would fly from rooftop to rooftop on his white horse, dropping sweets down the chimney, into the shoes. Dutch settlers brought this tradition with them to American and thanks to "T'was The Night Before Christmas" the horse turned into a sleigh with eight reindeer.This item includes a gift box.
